Once in a while we take on #specialprojects for #customers, and this time we took on a #cyclocross #frameup build.

Brought to us as a bag of parts and a partially stripped (of paint) frame, we did some masking, design, and paint with our #favorite, @spray.bike, #bicycle specific #paint.

Both #fun and arduous, this #bike was built and #refinished to the customer’s #spec, and received with #smiles!

Such a #fun #project for us. #Restomod’ing an obsolescent design, and updating and repurposing give it life again!

@glennp8972 came in and told us how he wanted to #try #gravel. But didn’t want to just #sendit with a full on #newbikeday purchase. He brought in his bike that’s been hanging on the wall for the better part of the last decade and said, don’t go #crazy, but do you think you could make it work?

The widest tires that could fit, a #modern 11spd mechanical groupset, modern handlebar shape, era appropriate black stem, new 1x cranks, “wide range” cassette, and some new bartape!

Glenn’s taken it out a couple times and loves it! And that’s the best kind of #feedback we could get!

Keeping people #riding, bringing life back to older #bikes, and keeping the #stoke alive… this is what makes it all worthwhile!

Every member of our #team must learn the #basic’s of #bikeshop #bikemaintenance, and while it should be a normally practiced #skill, sometimes we all need a little refreshing from time to time.

@betsylink is practicing #tire #randr… just because you already know how, doesn’t meant you can’t sharpen your skills and learn #new ways too!

Today, Betsy learned why it’s important that the label is centered over the valve stem… that’s because it looks #pro! But it’s also a fantastic reference point when you #flat. You have a reference point of the tire label, so then you can figure out far faster where the puncture may be on the tube too!

“I sent my bike out for a custom paint job but there was a shipping sna-fu. With the IM coming up, I needed my bike back to test ride and pack it up. My original design had a hummingbird for Mom, to help keep me pushing through the tough times!

With the little glitch, my bike would have to be boring solid black for the big ride.

I took my bike to Aistriu to be re-assembled and to my tearful surprise, the amazing owner Jovian and the bike magician Dave, surprised me with this awesome design!
